Mina MacLeod will be joining MCB as a Quarterly author. She has a fantastic SF story that we are eager to share with everyone. Facsimile In nineteenth-century France, Monique Chambly lives with chronic pain. She shares an estate with her lover, eccentric scientist Elvire Mazet, whose work is largely shrouded in mystery. This is most evident when government officials bring the assassinated President Carnot to Monique's doorstep, pleading for Elvire's help. If you would like to submit your LGBTQ short story, information can be found HERE.

Mischief Corner Books has decided to open its submission doors for a new online magazine, MCB Quarterly. What sorts of submissions? We've heard the frustration out there - the only thing publishers want is romance, usually M/M erotic romance. There aren't enough options for writers who don't fit the mold. We'd like to offer that to the writing community. Submissions should be short stories, under 10K. After that, anything on the LGBTQ spectrum goes. Anything. You want to write a tragedy for us? Go for it. You want to write a steampunk without a love interest? We're interested. You want to write a story about a gay detective that is a romance? We want that, too. What we're asking for is well written, tight bits of fiction. Ideally, we'd like to present short stories with punch, with flair, across the whole spectrum, not just one corner of it. Show us the art of the short story isn't dead and that a good story may or may not have a happily ever after. Interested? Come take a look at the Submission Guidelines. We're waiting for you to dazzle us. |
