Reminders and News Updates

First Off, Some Reminders!

In light of recent third party distribution site issues (see All Romance closure), Mischief Corner Books is carefully re-evaluating our third party distribution channels. We want to be sure that both you, the consumer, and our authors have the best possible book buying experience and are also protected from fraud and piracy.

Over the next month, we will be transition titles at the sales sites below from their current channels to new distributors. You may experience no interruption of service or changes in your libraries BUT we highly recommend that if you use any of these sites for your purchases that you back up your Mischief Corner titles in the next two weeks.

Sales sites affected:
Apple
Inktera
Baker and Taylor
Overdrive
ScribD
Gardners
Yuzu
Tolina
Odilo
Bookstrand

We will be back at Apple and Scribd, but our method of distribution will have changed. We should also be back at Overdrive in the coming months.

However, it is unlikely we will be back at the other distribution sites such as Bookstrand.

News Updates

You may have noticed we have a couple books no longer available from Mischief Corner.

Please do not worry! They will be back on shelves in the next couple of months.

Toni is focusing on her Atherton Pack and Hounds of Hell series this year, and as such decided to expand her first Hounds of Hell story, Archie's Accidental Kidnapping, before the sequel, Pyro's Accidental Shooting is released. AAK will have substantial additions as well as a new cover and another surprise - we hope. *crosses fingers*

The other book currently not available is Freddy's Internment. It will be re-released with some minor edits, a new cover, and 4 color illustrations from Mila May. This is to make way for its sequel, Enhearten, coming out late Spring. Freddy has the first draft done and is now going through beta reads and edits for the new story!

IMP Universe stories

As many of you heard, Wilde City Press is closing their doors. It's sad news for all of us. The team at WCP brought some wonderful stories to the world. Two of those happen to be from Mischiefiers Angel and Freddy.

These stories happen to be a part of the same universe as Angel's, A Christmas Cactcus for the General, and as such we have decided that the stories will be coming to MCB. We have not determined when they will be getting released, but we want a plan in place before we do. We will keep you updated.

Stuff We Like #45 - HOLIDAYS

10/21/2015

Hi Everyone,

Toni here for another episode of Stuff We Like. This week I'm here to talk about holidays. I'm currently in the countdown for my next trip to the U.S. 8 Sleeps and counting. *Squee*
Picture
This will be my third trip back to the US in four years. This time though I figured I should probably do the good mummy thing and bring the child along with me. hehe.

My well travelled child will now be able to cross off the United States on her list of places she wants to visit.

The visa's have been secured, all the internal flights and accommodation have been paid for (my poor credit card) and the stash of Redskins and Tim Tams have been purchased ready for my trip to Chicago and my visit with Freddy MacKay. (Can't Wait)

This will be the first time my child and I have gone away on holiday together, without other members of my family being there, since my divorce three years ago. To say I'm a little excited is an understatement.

Picture
One thing I'm not really looking forward to is the flights. Brisbane to LA is a 13hr flight. The return to Sydney is 15 hours.
The problem with being 6'2 and traveling with a child under 15 is they aren't able to sit in exit rows - Which means no extra leg room for me. I'm gonna die!!!

I have to say I'm a little excited and nervous about driving in the US, considering you all drive on the WRONG side of the road and the car! Plus, everything is in MPH... Seriously come over to the metric system people. It makes sense, I promise!!! So, if you see reports about an erratic driver cruising down the highway on the wrong side between Orlando FL and Atlanta GA in November, just ignore them, it'll probably be me, the crazy Aussie.

I found out today that Darwin, is about to be hit by a heat wave. I have to say I'm a little happy we're disappearing, even if Chicago decides to snow for me. (I'm not build to handle snow, I'm from the tropics!!)

A little over a week to go, I can't wait. I know it'll be all over before I know it, but the waiting is killing me!

Update on Anniversary Releases

6/7/2015

Hi everyone,

As some of you know, the individual releases from Cabin for Two have been getting some anniversary updates (cosmetic stuff - covers). The last two on the docket are Freddy's Dirty Little Secret and Toni's A Bear in the Woods: Smokey Mountain Bears 1.

Freddy's story is still up, but we have pulled Toni's story down while undergoing renovations ;). No worries, A Bear in the Woods will be back shortly, with a couple surprises planned as an anniversary gift to fans. We are certainly looking forward to it, so we hope you will too.

Stuff We Like #17

3/10/2015

Welcome to a special Stuff We Like. This week isn't brought to you by the usual Mischiefers. Nope. No Toni, Freddy, or Angel. This week happens to feature someone near and dear to Toni, so you could say it's indirectly related to her if you want. We guess. But this special guest is also familiar to the Mischiefers. We met him when Toni came to the US the first time. He was at the writer's retreat where the Mischiefer crew was born.

Toni's brother, Jonathan, had joined her for her cross country USA trip for moral support. When he showed up in the cabin, we stared at him (and her too). They were HUGE! Also, was this straight, Aussie brother of a gay mm romance writer going to fit in with a bunch of other MM writers?

It was a stupid question really. Jonathan was a blast. Perfectly fitting in with the rest of us. Laughs, good times, and fun were to be had. No one could ask for a better straight ally.

We also discovered he had a beautiful speaking voice. One day we woke up one of our roommates with him reading a book through the door to her. We died. It was awesome.

Toni recently visited Jonathan. On this trip, she finished up her latest Holland Brother book (A Very Holland Valentine), but she also managed to get him to read for her. As in, read an excerpt from her books so all of you can hear her wolves in an authentic Aussie accent.

(He really is a nice brother).

So, without further ado, Jonathan reading from the new, bigger, better version of Forbidden Mate: Holland Brothers 4.
Can you see why we adore him? Jonathan is most definitely Stuff (People) We Like.

You can find Forbidden Mate here on MCB and other third party outlets like Amazon, ARe, and B&N. (And, if you weren't aware of Toni's re-edited, expanded version of her Holland Brothers, here is the updated blurb for FM.)

Forbidden Mate
Finding his mate should have been Patrick Holland's greatest day, instead it turned into a nightmare with one phone call. His mate didn't want him. His heart broke, but at sixteen he was too young to do anything. The next ten years—ten long years— of Patrick's life are spent at odds with his mate. Split by forces he can't comprehend and a long line of misunderstandings, Patrick doubts he'll ever get the man he's both loved and hated.

Jake Richmond never expected to come home from Uni to find the youngest Holland brother was his mate. Knowing the news might uplift his still grieving father, Jake shares the news only to have his young mate threatened. Jake does the only thing he can think of, protect Patrick. The next ten years are nothing but torture for Jake as he watches his mate grow into a remarkable young man.
They say time heals all wounds, but how much time?

Please note: FM has been reedited, and expanded by about 50,000 words.

Comprehensive Review for the Holland Brothers!

Vicki from Love Bytes Reviews gave the Holland Brothers Series a comprehensive review for all the books.

"I thoroughly enjoyed this series! I can’t say they were unique, I have read lots of shifter/werewolf stories, but these were very well done. I loved the world Toni created, the family connection was great, and having four gay werewolf brothers was original. I liked that each book featured one couple but they were all so tied in together that we see what is happening with the other couples. The couples were each well connected physically and emotionally, the sex was plentiful but not overwhelming, and the endings were all satisfying. There were clearly defined bad guys and good guys, enough drama and action to keep me interested, but lots of sweet cuddling as well. I am very glad I read them, and hope the story of the Holland Brothers continues!"
