Stuff We Like #23 - Patches & Pennies

Hello, Everyone! Welcome to another week of Stuff We Like with Freddy. This week I'm all about patches & pennies. Why? Because of my mom.

When we were younger we drove everywhere we went, and to remember the different places we trekked to, my mom bought patches and sowed them on a "family backpack."

I have carried on this tradition, adding flattened pennies to the mix. Below are the latest ones I've picked up and need to add to my travel pack.

These are all pretty local, but I haven't gone anywhere far since Christmas. (I have Thailand patches!) I can't ever imagine stopping. I love collecting too much. It's also made for an interesting backpack. I love it and it's not replaceable.

Have any of you any special trip customs?

That's a cool one, I have a friend who is in the military reserve and he has a jacket that is half mission patches while the other half is various sci fi patches, it's a cool jacket!
For me, I didn't travel for a long time, but when I started again with GRL in 2012, I liked picking up a t-shirt from each place, a key chain and for my bestfriend, a shot glass! Sadly, I have mostly found these in airports so driving down last year, I unfortunately was not able to add to my collection since the hotel did not have much with "Chicago" on it! No worries, I know that is one place I'd like to go back to so I'll catch up then!
