In today's SWL, one of the simple joys of life from Angel:
In my old corporate life, I traveled frequently. When you travel for a large company, you're normally required to use approved flights, approved hotels, all that sort of nonsense. It was always kind of a crap shoot. One week, you might be in a lovely suite with a kitchen and refrigerator, the next you might be in some crummy dive where you wondered if the door lock actually worked. Those days are over for me, but I learned a lot about my hotel preferences. I don't need fancy-schmancy, but I'd rather be somewhere safe and clean, with a room far away from the vending machines. And there should be breakfast, preferably included in the room rate. Look. I'm not all chipper and bright in the morning, but I do get up early. My body just does these things to me. When I'm up, I'm up. But I need to take my time -- coffee, breakfast, maybe some reading. Do not rush me. I won't be right the rest of the day. So if I have to go scrambling for breakfast who knows where or end up eating fast food breakfast, (bleh) I won't be a pleasant, happy Angel. I truly appreciate hotels where I can get up early, get dressed, and wander downstairs to have that coffee and breakfast need fulfilled. Quiet time where I can gather my thoughts and my energy to face the day, whatever it might bring. Thank you, hotel breakfasts, for making the world safe for my family, co-workers, and fellow convention goers.

I'm with you - I get up early, but I'm not all perky, I need my time, always have, even when I was a kid! And breakfast is always a must! I'm looking forward to breakfast buffets in October ;-)
